Riding Techniques Left Bend Position yourself near the crown of the road for the best view round the bend. Notice the restricted view when positioned near the nearside edge of the road (the hazard is unseen!) Also note that the bend is unnessarily sharpened in this position and is more likely to cause you to go wide if you have misjudged the entry speed. |

The Riding Line: If the view ahead is restricted (you cannot see across the bend) then resist the temptation to cut the corner more than is shown. To do so is to open yourself to the risk of being cranked over with your head and shoulders over the centre line and possibly in the path of a Box Van or Bus. This is the Decapitation Zone! |
